Royal Enfield is getting ready to launch its first electric motorcycle, the C6, under a new brand called "Flying Flea." This bike mixes Royal Enfield's classic style with the latest electric technology. It's designed for city riders, being light and packed with smart features.

When will it be launched?
The Flying Flea C6 is planned to launch worldwide by March 2026. After that, Royal Enfield will release another electric bike called the S6, which will be quite different. We're still waiting for details on how Royal Enfield will set up its electric bike sales and service.

The Flying Flea C6 pays homage to the original Royal Enfield Flying Flea, a lightweight motorcycle used during World War II. The original WD/RE Flying Flea was designed for paratroopers, allowing it to be air-dropped behind enemy lines to help soldiers quickly relay messages and navigate rough terrain.

Design
The C6 gets its cool looks from the original Royal Enfield "Flying Flea," a motorcycle used in World War II. It blends old-school charm with a modern electric feel:

Classic Roadster Look: It has a slim body with a special aluminum frame and unique "girder forks" that bring back memories of old bikes.
Modern Lights: It features round LED lights at the front, indicators on the handlebars, and round mirrors, all adding to its retro style.
Smart Battery Placement: The battery is placed neatly under what looks like a fuel tank, and it has special cooling fins. This placement helps balance the bike for better handling.
Comfy Seating: It has a split seat design.
Stylish Wheels: Black alloy wheels complete its modern look.
Lightweight: The bike's body is designed to be sleek, and it uses a special magnesium casing for the battery that helps with airflow. It's expected to weigh around 110 kg, making it easy to handle.

Smart Features
Touchscreen Display: It has a 3.5-inch color screen that shows lots of info and controls Bluetooth and more.
Software Updates: It can get updates wirelessly, just like your smartphone, so it keeps getting better.
Convenient Tech: It can be unlocked/locked remotely, a wireless phone charger, and a USB-C charging port.
Riding Modes: Five different Ride modes available: Eco (for saving power), Rain, Tour, Performance, and a custom mode.
Royal Enfield's Own Control System (VCU): Royal Enfield made its own special control unit that makes sure the throttle, brakes, and regenerative braking all work perfectly. You can control many settings through a special app on your phone.

Rides and Its Range
The C6 is built for city riding, focusing on being easy to handle and having enough range for daily commutes.

Expected Range: It is expected to go about 100 km on a single charge, perfect for getting around town.
Performance: It's designed to feel like a relaxed 250-300cc petrol motorcycle.
Battery: It uses a lithium-ion battery.

Safety First
Safety is a big deal for the C6, and it comes with several advanced safety features:

Dual-Channel ABS: Helps you brake safely on both wheels.
Lean-Sensitive ABS: A first for Royal Enfield, this helps you brake better even when you're turning.
Switchable Rear ABS: Gives you the option to turn off ABS on the back wheel if you want more control.
Traction Control (TC): Three different settings to help keep grip on different road surfaces.
SOS Button: A quick way to get help in emergencies.

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is expected to cost around ₹4.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Rivals?
Right now, there isn't another electric bike quite like the C6 that mixes vintage style with new EV tech. However, it might compete with upcoming electric bikes like the Ola Roadster Pro and the Ultraviolette F77.

Made In-House
Royal Enfield has claimed that all aspects of the Flying Flea C6's development including the electric motor, battery management system (BMS), and custom software, were developed in-house. The company has a dedicated EV division with 200 personnel spread across India and the United Kingdom, working on the Flying Flea project.
